Hello everybody and welcome back to our monthly blog. Here we will catch you up with all things exciting happening in and around our theatre. This month we have had the end of one show, the start of rehearsals of A Greasy Spoon and the opening of their run. We have also have the start of our incredible youth theatre summer school. Let’s catch up!
We started this month with bringing the curtains down on Vernons Girls. It was a fantastic run and the whole team did an incredible job with the show. A massive congratulations and well done to everybody involved in this wonderful show!
We look forward to seeing what this amazing cast do in the future and hopefully we will welcome them back to the Royal Court stage soon.
This month we have bought in some new and old familiar faces for the rehearsals and start of our new show A Greasy Spoon. Written by Alice Bunker-Whitney and directed by Francesca Goodridge, this quick fire comedy is going to be an amazing show. Bringing this show to life will be Royal Court regulars Lindzi Germain and Hayley Sheen! Lindzi has recently been in the iconic A Thong For Europe as well as our last Christmas show along with Hayley! Joining them on the stage will be Jay Johnson who recently graced our studio starring in sold out show, What Happened to Billy Kenny. Also with them will be Adam McCoy, Anthony Gough and Ben Phillips who are excited to see on our stage.
The end of this July welcomes the start of our Youth Theatre Summer School! We take on 6 to 16 year olds into our summer school to learn different creative skills. Our first few weeks will involve different classes from music and singing to drama and dance which help the children learn skills they can use within the creative industry. Working with a range of tutors who show them various skills and show them the different types of jobs they could be interested in.
The last few weeks the children are going to be rehearsing for their end of summer show that they will be performing on a big stage at the end of August. They will be working on this show themselves and devising their own scenes to create this play. We are very excited to see what these talented young people come up with.
Join us again next month when we bring you more inside information on what happens in our lovely theatre!
